Brighten Your Bedroom With A Mirror

May 5th, 2010 by Jane R.

Hotel Monaco #2Besides attempting to create as large amount of storage in the bedroom as possible, one of the goals you should make for yourself is to try to find wardrobes that are as functional as possible. This might refer to the shade in which the wardrobe is colored or the fact that it contains storage space on top of the wardrobe or the fact that it is a mirror wardrobe.

If you are able to get multiple functions out of your new wardrobe you will be going a long way towards maximizing the potential in your bedroom. A mirrored wardrobe potentially combines a couple of pieces of furniture into the one unit which means that you can free up some floor space that may have been taken up.

Buying a wardrobe in a lighter shade will help to give the impression that the room is larger than it is. The more light that is allowed into the room the greater the feeling of space. The mirror on the wardrobe contributes to this impression, particularly if it is able to pick up a reflection of the light from outside.

Not all free-standing wardrobes will allow for space to be used on top of the wardrobe. This may be because of an unusually shaped top or because there is not enough room between the top of the wardrobe and the ceiling. Making use of this area will mean that the storage area is increased without any additional floor space being taken up.

One of the most popular types of sliding doors used by people who have built-in wardrobes installed is the mirror doors. These doors invariably reach from the floor to the ceiling and they create a positive impression in the room thanks to the way in which the light is bounced around the room.

It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for built-in wardrobes or a stand-alone unit the inclusion of a mirror somewhere in the design should be considered as a great way to help brighten the house.
